Project Denison - SIGN THE PLEDGE

IF YOU ARE RESIDENT OF IOWA DISTRICT 12 (DENISON, HARLAN, IDA GROVE) PLEASE READ THIS PAGE. YOU ARE KEY TO ABOLISHING ABORTION IN IOWA!

Project Denison is organized by the statewide group Iowa Abolitionists to "abolitionize" Denison and Legislative District 12 overall, due its significance in the work to abolish abortion in the whole state. The goal is to achieve or exceed 3,000 signatures from District 12 on the No Compromise Pledge--not to vote for any candidate who compromises with child sacrifice.

Why is abortion important, especially since the Heartbeat Bill passed?

In June 2024, Iowa's Heartbeat Bill took effect, banning child sacrifice past 6 weeks. Since most preborn children are killed after that, most Iowans thought it was mostly over in Iowa. But, the Heartbeat Bill only banned doctors from murdering babies, not home-managed abortions, which are on the rise, and can kill later into pregnancy than ever before. Many parents across this state are currently mail-ordering abortifacient drugs and using them to kill their babies with legal immunity and there is no way to track the numbers on this. The problem is that our lawmakers have merely regulated a method of killing children, not made killing children itself illegal. God says, "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Please click here for a reality check about the rise of home-managed chemical abortion.

What is the significance of Denison to abolishing abortion?

In 2024, 2025, and 2026, an abolitionist representative, Rep. Zach Dieken, filed bills to completely abolish abortion in Iowa. The Abolition bill is straightforward: it makes the preborn equal to the born in our homicide code, applying all existing laws against murder to the preborn.

Your pro-life, Christian Representative, Steve Holt, elected by District 12, was the one with the authority to give this bill a hearing. Instead, he let it die, three years in a row. No vote at all was had on abolishing child murder, because of Steve Holt. The people of Denison are the ones with the job to tell him to do what is right, or elect someone who will. What Denison does will be instrumental in the life or death of preborn children across Iowa.

Why did pro-life Representative Steve Holt kill the abolition bill?

Rep. Holt had one primary concern with the Abolition bill: he did not want mothers to be punished for murdering their own children. You can see his commentary here. See response from abolitionist pastor Raymond Simmons by clicking here. Holt's reasoning is judicially and biblically unfounded. The abolition bill simply makes the preborn equal to the born, something Holt believes in but compromised on. God says "You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality" (Deuteronomy 16:19).

What can the residents of Denison do?

  1. SIGN THE NO COMPROMISE PLEDGE HERE - not to vote for any candidate who compromises with child sacrifice.

  2. While we have teams regularly going into Denison to spread and teach abolitionism right now, most our volunteers live far away. If you are at all able to help us from inside, we can use it! There are many different tasks to do. We will help you help us. Please contact us here to get involved.

  3. Holt is up for reelection in the June 2026 primaries, and will probably win. He has no Republican challengers. The people of Denison should put increased pressure on him to do the right thing next session (2027) and hear the abolition bill. If he doesn't do it this time, District 12 should be prepared to elect an abolitionist in his place. This involves someone from District 12 running against him, and others helping. Iowa Abolitionists is prepared to help such a campaign extensively, but we need the man for the job.

"The people who know their God shall stand firm, and take action." Daniel 11:32
